Perfect binding
A square, printable spine. Books and catalogs with shelf presence.
Perfect binding wraps a printed cover around glued page blocks to make a square spine you can print on: the format of retail books, catalogs, magazines, and annual reports. Ours runs in-house on the Duplo DPB-500, bound and trimmed in the same building as the presses.
Digital printing makes short-run perfect-bound books practical: a few dozen catalogs for a launch, or a one-off portfolio, without offset minimums.
What we do
Printable spines
The cover wraps the spine: title, logo, whatever the shelf needs.
In-house binding
Bound and trimmed on the Duplo DPB-500, next to the presses.
Cover stocks & laminates
Heavy covers with gloss, matte, or soft-touch lamination.
Short runs
Digital short-run books without offset minimums.
The spine
Pages are gathered as a block, the spine edge is roughed and glued, and the cover wraps all three sides — which makes the spine itself printable.
Bound and trimmed on the Duplo DPB-500, next to the presses.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum page count for perfect binding?
The book block needs enough thickness to form a square spine, usually around forty text-weight pages, though it varies by stock. We advise on whether your piece should be perfect bound or saddle stitched.
Can you print on the spine?
Yes. The cover wraps the spine, so it prints along with the rest of the cover. We set the spine width from your final page count and stock.
What run lengths make sense?
Anything from a single portfolio to a few thousand catalogs. Digital printing means short runs are economical and reprints match the first run.
